Introduction


This tutorial provides hands-on usage of EBS-Inspector 3.0.  We are also available for one-on-one demos and training. Please schedule a Zoom meeting.


The EBS-Inspector 3.0 app is running below. Please sign in with user websiteDemo, password Demo


Click on the project and then the inspection to see details. The site plan is shown with markup that indicates work covered by the inspection.


On the next pages (tabs to the right), you will:

    • Create a project.
    • Add an inspection.
    • Upload photos and enter comments.
    • Generate and download an inspection report.
    • Add a site plan with progress markup and photo locations.


PLEASE NOTE: 
        This Demo app does not retain data when you close the browser. 
        This app is not limited to roof inspections.


The Basics

Once you are signed in (see Introduction), follow these steps to create a new project and inspection report:
  • Add a new project - Click + above the project list. Enter a Project #, Project Name, Owner and Address. (Skip the Roof Plan for now). Click Save. Your project is added to the list.
  • Add an inspection - Click Inspections in top menu. Click +.  Revise the inspection # and inspection date (or accept defaults), and enter the weather and comments.  Click Save.
  • Upload photos - Click Photos in top menu. Click the up arrow at top left, select several photos from your PC.  Photo thumbnails will display.
  • Enter comments - Click on a photo. Click Edit at TOP RIGHT and enter comments below the photo. Click Save.
  • Generate the report - Click Report in the top menu. The report is generated and displayed.
  • Download - Click the Down Arrow at bottom of screen. The PDF will be in your downloads folder.


That's the basics. You've learned how to use the app, and you have completed an inspections. This is the "framework" that customized apps are built on.


Next, we will add a roof plan with progress markup and photo locations.


Add a roof plan:
  • Select Projects in the top menu and select the project you created.
  • Click Edit (top right), click the up arrow under Roof Plan, select a photo from your PC. Click Save top right.

Add progress markup for the inspection:
  • Click Inspections in top menu, select the inspection you added, and click on form Edit (top right). 
  • Select a colour, click the polygon symbol, and move and shape the polygon. 
    • Move - click anywhere on the polygon, then drag and drop. Click away from the polygon.
    • Shape - Move the larger circles.  Move the smaller circles to split lines.
  • Click Save (top right) when done.
  • Proceed to the Add photo locations tab.

Add Photo Locations:
  • Select Photos in the top menu. Select a photo thumbnail. Scroll down the right side to view the roof plan.
  • Photo locn markers are displayed along the left side of the roof plan with their photo numbers.
  • Click on an marker to select it, then move it on to the roof plan.
  • Once positioned, release the mouse, then press again away from the marker and move around the marker.  The direction arrow will follow the mouse.
  • Repeat this process for other photos.

The Basics

  • Upload photos - Tap Photos in bottom tab bar. Tap the camera to take a photo, or the album icon to import one or more photos. Photo thumbnails will be displayed.
  • Enter comments - Select on a photo, and tap >. Tap Edit and enter comments below the photo.  Tap Save.  Tap <.
  • Generate the report - Tap Report in the tabBar. The report is generated and displayed.
  • Download - Tap the Mail icon in the tab bar. Complete the To, subject and body and send.  Your report will be sent as a PDF attachment.


That's the basics. You've learned how to use the app, and you have completed an inspection. This is the "framework" that our customized apps are built on.


Next, we will add a roof plan and photo locations.


Add a roof plan:
  • Select Projects in the top menu and select the project you created.
  • Click Edit (top right), click the up arrow under Roof Plan, select a photo from your PC. Click Save top right.

Add progress markup for the inspection:
  • Click Inspections in top menu, select the inspection you added, and click on form Edit (top right). 
  • Select a colour, click the polygon symbol, and move and shape the polygon. 
    • Move - click anywhere on the polygon, then drag and drop. Click away from the polygon.
    • Shape - Move the larger circles.  Move the smaller circles to split lines.
  • Click Save (top right) when done.
  • Proceed to the Add photo locations tab.

Add Photo Locations:
  • Select Photos in the top menu. Select a photo thumbnail. Scroll down the right side to view the roof plan.
  • Photo locn markers are displayed along the left side of the roof plan with their photo numbers.
  • Click on an marker to select it, then move it on to the roof plan.
  • Once positioned, release the mouse, then press again away from the marker and move around the marker.  The direction arrow will follow the mouse.
  • Repeat this process for other photos.
